Patrick L. Cordero, Esq.

Biography

Patrick L. Cordero is the top consumer-bankruptcy petition filer of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 in the State of Florida and in Miami for the last 36 years. The work has taken effort, commitment, and above all compassion — built on his vision of simply helping people. He holds an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and a Martindale-Hubbell AV Distinguished rating, the highest standard in client commitment and legal ability.

In November 2015, Mr. Cordero was honored as The National Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year by the Minority Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

Born in the Bronx, New York to Hispanic parents, Mr. Cordero resides in Miami with his wife and is the father of six children, ages 28 to 38. A devoted family man actively involved in community and religious organizations, he has been recognized in the Hispanic community for his compassion and contributions. For 18 years he has personally sponsored and led an annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Little Havana — distributing more than 1,500 complete meals to families in need each year. He also runs an annual back-to-school event distributing 1,200 backpacks and school supplies to children in Hialeah.

Mr. Cordero serves as sole and managing partner of the firm, with more than 40 staff members concentrated in consumer-bankruptcy law and expanded practices in loan modifications, foreclosure defense, real estate, and family law. He is recognized as one of the top three consumer-bankruptcy filing attorneys in the nation and the leading consumer-bankruptcy filing attorney in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties.

Beyond practice, Mr. Cordero has served on the Board of Advisors for his alma mater St. Thomas School of Law for the past 26 years and contributes annually to scholarship funding for law students who cannot otherwise afford tuition. He also hosts a weekly TV program covering community issues, national and local concerns, and political dilemmas.
